It was resolved to recommend that an extension bo allowed them up till March 1, 1017. A proposal was received from the the Palmerston North Borough Council that street should bo taken through P.E.R., 181 suburban, Palmerston North, with the view of cutting this reserve into small lots. It was Tesolved to adviso the council that the board cannot see its way to entertain the proposal as the proposed street would not bo suit-

able for Hie subdivision of the E.R. section.

A. Carlson applied for a permit to construct a tramway and use it through Section 27, Block 3, Kaitiek© S.D. It was resolved to consent to liis doing so provided that proper gates are erected and. kept closed when not actually in uso, that no holes aro dug along tram route, and. that when finislied with the tram is picked up and removed, and sufficient grass seed 6own by miller on area occupied. Messrs. Boon Bros, applied for a license to mill timber on Sections 3, Block 8, Kaitiok© S.D. It was resolved , to decline the application. , An application having been received for a permanent leas© of P.E.R. Section 10, Block 4, Slataroa Township, 2r., it was resolved to reoffer for lease by pub- , lie auction for a term of 21 years, vith right of renewal for further successive terms of 21 years under "The Education Reserves Act, 1908/' and "The Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908/' at an upset annual rent of £1 55., weighted with value of improvements to be fixed by the ranger. Tho Masterton County Council asked for consent to construction of protective works along river, bank reserve, Waipoua Stream, fronting Lot 5 of Section 101, Block 1, Otahoua S.D., and inquired whether the board as administrator is prepared to make a contribution towards cost of work. It was resolved to find a fourth of the cost of the work subject to the plans and specifications being submitted and approved by the Cotamissioner of Lands.
