HOSPITAL BOARD
BUSINESS AT YESTERDAY'S MEETING.
The Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board met yesterday. . Mr. H. Baldwin presided, and there were present also:. The Rev. H. Van Staveren, Mrs. M'Laren, Messrs. F. Castle, B. G. H. Burn, W. J. Thompson, G. J. Pethenck, J. W. M'Ewan, F. Moore, C. M. Luke, H.' Freeman, G. A. Monk, and W. Galloway. Tho following tenders were accepted: Messrs. J. J. Nivon and Co., Ltd., overhauling engine and laundry shafting; Mrs,. E. S. 'Knight erection of garago for tho accommodation of the two additional motors; Messrs. Crawley, Ridley and Co., Ltd., for the building of _ body for the ambulance motor chassis.
Plans submitted by the architec'6 for additions to the Nurses' Home to be erected on tho northern wing, and the proposed additions to be erected at the southern corner of the General Hospital to provide sleeping accommodation for the wardsmaids,' were approved, and .authority was given the chairman to approach the Department with a view to their endorsement of the plans being obtained. The, Otaki statistics for the month were presented as follow:—Otaki Hospital: 14 admitted; 10 discharged; under treatment, 3 males, 9 females. Otaki Sanatorium: 9 admitted; 6 discharged;' under treatment, 8 females, 12 males.
The Otaki matron was authorised to buy Christmas extras costing up to £5 for inmates of the Otaki institutions.
