ENEMY ARTILLERY ACTIVE
London, December 20. Sir Douglas Haig reports: "The enemy artillery has been particularly active in the neighbourhood of Eaucourt FAbbe. We successfully bombarded lines eastwardc of Rauquissart. "A Paris communique records lively reciprocal artillery activity on the right bank of the Mouse, and) intermittent artillery work elsewhere.." —Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.-Reuter. BRITISH RAIDS , PRISONERS CAPTURED (Rec. December 21, 9.10 p.m.) London, December 20. Sir Douglas Haig reports:—Wo raided the linos in the vicinity of Gommecourt, and did considerable damage, also northward of Arras, where a number were made prisoner. The leader of a German patrol northward of Neuvo Chapello was killed and his men taken prisoner.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Reu-ARTILLERY ACTIVITY SOUTH OF THE SOMME (Rec. December 21, 9.15 p.m.) London, December 20. A Paris communique says:—South of the Somme the enemy bombardment was particularly heavy in the sectors of Belloy-au-Santerro, Belmy, Pressoire, ,and Ablaincourt, to which we vigorously replied.
