Admiral Wood was' responsible for an exceptional performance in the New Brighton Handicap, when ho finished second to Author Dillon. His time for two miles was 4min. 23 3-ssec., which is easily a race record 'for A-iistralasia, the previous best being imin. 252-ssec., established by Don Caesar at Forbsry Park last January.
