CHARGE OF HIGH TREASON AGAINST VENIZELOS RUMANIAN ARMY INTACT TRANSPORTS SUNK ADVANCE IN MESOPOTAMIA , To-day's news shows no very striking change in the war situation. Violent oqemy counter-attacks in the Verdun area completely failed. The Germans momentarily recovered one of the position lost on Saturday, but failed to hold it. In Rumania the Allies are now fighting on a Jine extending across the eastern fringe of Wallachia and across the Dobrudja, about forty miles south of the Danube. The Athens Government has issued a warrant for the arrest of M. Vonissclos on a charge of high treason. Unsuccessful offensive operations by the enemy aro reported in Southern, Russia and the Carpathians, and he is said also to be massing powerful forces on the front covering Trieste. Reported losses by-submarines iiiolude a British horse transport (sunk in the Mediterranean) and a French troopship. Some , lives were lost on the British transport, but 'all aboard the French ship were saved.
