Attention is .called to an advertisement in this issue notifying tho closing of acceptances for the Hawko's Bay Jockey Club's Summer Meeting. Theso must be in the hands of tho secretary by 8 y.m. on Friday next. Acceptances for tho Stratford Meeting close to-morrow night. After doing a gallop at Trentham on Saturday morning tho Manawatu Cup candidate, Taringamutu, pu\led up lame and will have to forego her holiday engagements. Though she has yet to distinguish herself over 12 furlonga. Bed Ribbon is in mu<ih request for the Manawatu Cup. She is trained by W. Garrett at_ Opaki, and tho same mentor prepared Sir Solo, a piivious winner of the race, and Blue Ribbon, dam of Red Ribbon, who won tho Wellington Cup. At the Waipa Meeting on Saturday there was a sensational Teturn in the opening, event, which went to Bingham, a two-year-old in ]?. MaoManemin's Ellerslie 'stables. In the Pirongia. Hurdles another outsider, in Companion, prevailed front Gluepot, who was a good favourite. The top weight, Tararu Jack, who was greatly fancied in Wellington, was withdrawn on tho course. The Maiden Handicap went to British .Arch, a winner at Avondale in the spring. The runnor-up was St. Francis, who paid his supporters a good price for second place. Depredation, ridden by Deeley, was a very hot order in tho Cup, and he won very easily from Munster. Ring Lupin, who seenis to bo a champion at, the country meetings, won the Kikikilii Handicap, fivo furlongs, making light, of his 9st. 71b. Tho Bezonian filly, Lightning, was in second place. The winner paid si very short .price, as did Corregidor, winner of the Ohaupo Handicap, one mile. The Railway Handicap candidate, King' Lupin, was the hottest order of the day.in tho Flying Handicap, which he won easily from Independence.

Allen Doone, who is to race on the West Coast duririg the holidays, was shipped to the coast yesterday.

Royal Sleeves, who has been an inmate of C. Pritchard's stables for some months, was shipped south last night on his way to the West Coast, where he is to conipeto during the holidays. The gelding went south in charge of L. M'Eandall, who will rido him in his engagements. Tho Trentham horseman regularly visits the Coast, whero he enjoys a big riding connection.

All going well in the meantime, tho Ellerslio trainer, J. Lambess, will bring Soldier; St ■ Francis, Glittering Sands, and Kauri King south for tho Stratford Meeting.
