VICTORIA COLLEGE COUNCIL
"A meeting of tho Victoria University College Council was held last night. There were present: Mr. Clement Watson (chairman), the Hon. A T. Maginnity, Messrs. T. R. Fleming, W. Fergusson, 11. M'Calluin, M.P., C. B. Morison, R, A. Wright, M.P., the Rev. W. A. Evans, Dr. Hector, Professors llankino Brown and J/ M. E. Garrow.
Mr. G. G. G. Watson was appointed Assistant and Instructor in Evidence and Procedure (including Criminal Procedure). The whole question of assistants' salaries stands referred to a special meeting of tho Finance Committee, to be held on January ~~s, 1917, tc report to tho next meeting of the council.
An arrangement which had been proposed by tho Accountants' Society for tho carrying on of the accountancy lectures in the Accountants' Chambers, in Johnston Street, was adopted as for the coming year only. The lectures will bo conducted as formerly by Mr. Barton and Mr. Ward, and will commence probably in January.
