SCHOOLS TOUKNAJIEA'T. FINALS. •The finals of the schools tennis tournament wero played at the Brougham Hill courts on Monday afternoon. Tho trophies, medals, and prizes were presented by tho Hon. J. G. W. Aitken, who spoke in enthusiastic terms of the value of tennis as a game, and thanked Mr. and Mrs. Howe, .Uesdanies (joldie, Williams, Eraser, and Kobinson, and Mr. Hurley, for the excellent work they had done during the tournament. At the conclusion, Mr. Haslam, president ot tne AVellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association, presented Mr. J. A. B. Howe with a solid silver cigarette-holder ajid case, on behalf of the association, in recognition of his excellent work in the interests of school tennis. The primary cup was non by the Clyde Quay School, and the secondary cup by the Petoue Technical School. liesults of the Raines were as follow:— PRIMARY. Girls' Singles Championship.—H. Lapworth (C.Q.) defeated K. Gilling (C.Q.), 30-25. Girls' Douoles.-K. Gilling and St. Harrington (C.Q.) defeated H. Lapwortlii ami Z. Hiclcoy (C.Q.), 30-17. Bovs' Singles.—Cousins (Maranui) defeated Wyatt (C.Q.), 30-26. Boys' Doubles—Goldie and Wyatt (C.Q.) defeated Varlow and Morgan (S.W.), 30-21. Combined Doubles.—Wright and H. Lapworth (CO.) defeated Wyatt and M. Harrington (C.Q.), 30-23. SECONDARY. : Girls' Singles— M. Curtis (P.) defeated J. Thompson (P.), 30-23. Girls' Dbubles.-B. Clarke and G. Chappoll (T.C.) defeated G. Lee and 31. Cameron (L.H.), 30-15. Boys' Singles—M. Nicholls (P.) defeated Whisker (T.C), 30-15. Bovs' Doubles.—Kuch and Whisker (T.C.) defeated Nicholls and Olson (P.), 30-23. Combined Doubles.—Whisker and B. Clarke (T.C) defeated A. Curtis and M. Nicholls (P.), 33-31.
