BELGIAN RELIEF
DETAILS OF THE LOCAL FUNDS. A statement lias been prepared, showing the position of the Poor of Groat Britain, Ireland, and Belgium Relief Fund in the districts of Wellington, Hawko's Bay, Taranaki, and Marlborough from the commencement of the war until April 20, 1915. Cash subscriptions totalled £46,491 lGs. Id., and shipment of goods, including mutton, lamb, beef, clothing, blankets, cheese, butter, and peas, were of tho estimated value of £20,000, making a total of £66,491 16s. Id. Then the above fund was merged into tho Dominion Belgian Relief Fund, and the statement shows that from April 30, 1915, to November 30. 1916, cash subscriptions amounted to £23,846 Is. 6d., from which was deducted tho amount transferred from the Poor of Ireland, Great Britain, and Belgium Relief Fund (£9589 7s. 10d.), leaving a net total of £14.256 13s. Bd. Tims the grand total lias reached £80,748 9s. 9d.\ and those in charge of the fund feel quite a justifiable gratification in the fact that tho total expenses in raising this large sum of money only amounted to £79 12s. 3d.— £71 16s. 9d. for the first fund, and £7 15s. 6d. for the seco.Hd.
