NEW RED CROSS SHOP

The public aro notified by an advertisement in this issue of the opening on Friday next of a Bed Cross SJiop, iu premises adjoining tho Public Trust Office, on Lauibton Quay. This shop is to be in charge of the ladies connectedwith the Bed Cross: Depot in Mercer Street, and its main object is to receive and sell contributions of all kinds of produce and any other saleable goods that considerate people in the town or country might feel disposed to give for the benefit, of Red Cross work. As is pretty well known, the demands for Bed Cross aid at the front is never-ending, and it is by making some little sacrifice in this way that everyone, from the poorest to the wealthiest, may help tho boys, who ate fighting the battles of those who stay at borne and the cause of the Empire. At this time of the year there is always a veiy lively demand for all kinds of home-made jams, conserves, cokes, pickles, sauces, eggs, butter, poultry, hams, and vegetables, and every-, body is asked to contribute. • The new shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 5.30 pju. on Fridays and Tuesdays, and from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on other days. Misses Cooper and Moss will be in charge on Friday All correspondence should be addressed to the hon. secretary, who will be in attendance at tho shop all this week.
