WOOL GRADING
. iWANGANDI TO BE MADE A GRADING PORT. By Telegraph.—Epeoial Correspondent. Wanganui, December 9. . Wanganui.'has received tho assurance; of the Minister of Agriculture that Wanganui is to be made a grading port for wool;, providing thero is sufficient accommodation. A conference- of wool-growers was ■held at Palmerston yesterday, and a , committee was sat.up consisting of representatives from Wairarapa, TaraBaki, Manawatu, and Wanganui, to adjust any differences in regard to valuation.. It was stated at tie conference that Wanganui handled more wool last year than Auckland, Timaru, or Inver-; cargill, and when made a grading port one-tenth of the wool in New Zealand will pass through it. \ Hitherto, Wellington has received oredit for wool exports rightly belonging to Wanganui.
