ROBERT SEMPLE ARRESTED
ON CHARGE OF USING SEDITIOUS LANGUAGE. ■ By. Telegraph—Press Association. Christcliurbh, December 10. At about 5.30 to-night Superintendent Dwyer received a telegram from the Auckland police instructing him to arrest Robert Semple on a charge of using seditious language -at Auckland last Sunday night. _ Sergeant Dwyer proceeded to effect the arrest and at 5.30 met Seniple walking along High Street near the Clock Tower. Tho arrest.was mado quietly, and Semple was lodged in tho lock-up. Bail was refused. The police here do not blow what the seditious utterances are, but Scrapie's comrades say the trouble has possibly arisen over some remark Seniple made concerning tho Hon. G. W. Russell... , „ , - Semple was to have addressed an anti-conscriptionist meeting in the So* cialist Hall to-night.
