WOMEN POLICE
PROPOSALS FROM DUNEDIN. Br Telegraph—Press Association. ' Duncdin, December G. A meeting was held to-day under the auspices of tho Women's Christian Tomperauco Union to consider tho need for tlio appointment of women police. About 100 pcoplo wero present, tho majority being ladies. Several speakers strongly supported tho proposal to appoint women police, and 11 motion was carried urging tho Minister in charge of Police to immediately appoint women police. A motion was also carried urging tho appointment in every ccntro 'of a woman as a protector and advisor to young womon and children, with the authority and standing of a Justico of tho Peaco, such protector to bo authorised to attend all Courts in cases whoro womon or children aro connected, and to intervene if she considered it desirable.
