■ CANTERBURY FROZEN MEAT CO. By Telegraph—Press Association. Ghrlstchurch, December 4. At a meeting of the directors of • tho Canterbury Frozen Meat Company dividends were recomendert on the half-year's work at tho rate of three per cent, on preference and four ner cent, on ordinary shores, which will make, with the .previous half-year, totals of six and eight per cent, respectively. In addftfbn .the directors recommend a bonus of three per cent, on ordinary shares. HIGH COMMISKTONER'S MARKET REPORT. The Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce has received the following cablegram, dated London December 2, from the High Commissioner for i New Zealand. (Note—Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot):— Mea'c-There is a. better demand for prime lamb owing to decreasing sunplies of IJome-killed mutton and Scotch lambs. Gilbert, Anderson, and Co. (Messrs. Melsopp, Eliott and Co..- Palmer- ' Eton North, local agents) report on the frozen meat -market, under dr.t-e London, October 13, as follows:—No Dutch meat lias arrived on the market again this week. Other" supplies have .been on a fairly liberal scale, and the demand j'usl about: equal to it. Game, poultry, and oork ' are scarce and dear, although this is tho season when they usually are abundant. Frozen.—When it is pointed out that tbe arrivals at U.K: ports from New Zealand, Australia, and S. America, fall short by 2.750,000 sheep. 850,000 lambE, 650,000 quarters frozen beef? ond 450,000 chilled for 12 months—October, 1915, to September, 1916— compared with same period 1914-15, it can be readily understood why prices have been on such a high basis throughout.
