« BROUGHAM HILL CLUB At tin Brougham Hill tennis courts on Saturday a fancy dross tournament was held in aid of tho, Returned- Soldiers' Club Fund. Tho sum of £10 6s. 2d. was raised. Seventy-one players took part—37 ladies audi 34 men. Tho prizes for fancy dresses were won by:—Ladies: Mrs. Box (Indian squaw), 1; Miss Eva Stevens (I'eter Pan), 2. Mon: Mr. M. F. Instono (Chinaman), and S. Roberts (elderly gentleman), equal, first. Mrs. Box's representation of au Indian squaw was exceptionally good. It as a handicap tournament and the results were - — Ladies. The annual lawn tenuis schools' tournament, which was postponed a weolc on account of rain, commenced on Saturday iit ideal weather. The en- " tries wore much heavier than last year, and some really good tennis waß played by a number of children. Excellent progress -was mado on Saturday, and it is hoped that tho tournament will be finished next Saturday if fine weather prevails. GIRLS' CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES.
