TEMPORARY APPOINTMENTS. Tlio following temporary appointments have been approved by the Camp Commandant at Fcatkerston:— Lcc.-Corpl. .H. 0. Bonakor, 20th, A 1.11., to be corporal; Pto. A. Robson, 20th, M.R., to bo lance-corporal; Lco.-Corpl. 11. AVellington, 20th, M.R., to bo corporal; Pte. D. Lupton, 20th M.R., to bo lance-corporal; Pto. O. J. Adams, 22nd, M.11., to bo lance-corporal; Pto. A. Gillies, 22nd, M.R., to be lancecorporal; Pto. C.. Shuttle-worth, 22nd., M.R., to bo lance-corporal; Lce.-Corpl. J. F. Camp to bo sergeant. Tho following men of Signal.Section, 20th,. Specialist Company, Having passed the proscribed tests, are classified as trained signallers, and entitled to wear efficiency badges :—Ptes. K. A. Powell, AV. T. Sampson, AV. K. Nicholls, J. B. Taylor, 3. Hurley. At the Anzac Club, Fcatherston, on Thursday evening, tho prizes donated by tho AVairarapa and East Coast P. and A. Society were presented to the artillery teams placed first and second in the competition held at tho tccent Carterton Show. The president of tho society, Mr. Arch. Clark, speaking to those present, expressed appreciation of tho manner in which tho artillerymen had carried out the display in .tho face of unfavourable weather. Mr. E. Eagle, treasurer, mado the presentation, which consisted of £1 Is. for each man of tho winning team, and 10s. Od. for each of tho second, and the large gathering in the club, accompanied tho ceremony by" singing heartily, "For They Are Jolly Good Fellows." Tho artillerymen responded with three cheers, and Lieutenant AV. Chirnside, on behalf of tho winners, returned thanks to' tho society for its recognition of tho men's efforts. Tho winning teams were:—First, Sergeant E. AV. Hasoll, Bomb. L. Borrow, Bomh.-Dvrs. AV. R. Mahson, R. Scott, Gunners H. Watson','. A. Gilmoro, AV. R. Mayhow, Dvr. R. A. S. Smith (Eighteenth Reinforcements); second: Sergt. T. Virtue, Bomb! Gifford, Gunners AV. C. Smith; C. Peat. J. H. Harloy, Dvrs. H. Anderson, C. Hampton, and F. Popenhagen (Nineteenth Reinforcements). Mr. T. Shields, Military Tailor, Willis Street, advertises a ; new shipment of all makes of puttees and all military badges.
