DEATH OF A YOUNG WOMAN. Mary Winifred Wilhelmina Curry, who wns employed at tho Telephone. Exchange, died suddenly at 73 Hanson Street, on AVcdnosday afternoon. Miss Curry went to the house of Mrs. A. L. Peterson in tho attornoon, with the object of doing some sowing. She kept at this work until nearly 5 o'clock, and when Mrs. Peterson went into the kitchen Miss Curry informed her that she had been poisoned. Medical aid was summoned, but Miss Curry had died by tho timo the doctor arrived. An inquest will bo held. . . TRAM ACCIDENT. Shortly after 9 o'clock last evening a tram accident occurred on Lambton Quay. Privato Kilcollyj of the Permanent Staff at Trentham Camp, stepped off-the footpath near the shop of Whitcombe and Tombs just as a tram going towards Lambton Station was approaching. The soldier was knocked down and sustained injuries to his head, but he was not seriously hurt. FATAL RESULT OF A COLLISION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, November 30. E. G. Phillips was run into while cycling at Fendalton a few days ago' by a motor driven by Dr. W. II." Simpson. He was badly injured, and died early this morning at the hospital. MAN DROWNED AT PATEA. • Wanganui, November 30. A man named Thomas E. Chandler, an engme-driver and a married man with three children,' was drowned in the Patea River last night. The body has not been recovered. FARMER COMMITS SUICIDE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, November 30. The police have been advised that a farmer named Hugh Cameron, aged 55 years, committed suicide by hanging at Konini, 14 miles from Lawrence. . LITTLE GIRL DROWNED. Wanganui, November 30. Rita Maud Hoffman,/aged eight and a half years, daughter of a railway ganger, was drowned in the river at' Aramolio this afternoon. The body was recovered. SUICIDE'S BODY FOUND. ■ Auckland, November 30. The hoadlcss decomposed body of a man was found at Mercer this morning. The man had apparently committed suicide by blowing his head -off with an explosive. The identity of the man has not been established. A railway ticket fouud on tho body boro tho date of October 24.
