RETURNED SOLDIERS' APPEAL DAYS

———v , Sooner or later the State will be con. fronted with great and serious problems. Whilst the war is raging all our energies are bent on winning the war, but those who have already laced.tho actual experience, who are maimed, and whosa nerves are shattered, realise what ij; means-to return to civilian life, and once more become ordinary citizens, a, task which 6eems almost superhuman. An institution such as the "Returned Soldiers' Club" is an important factor in solving the difficulty, and pointing out the right, path for the man who is back from the front. Whilst the club offers most excellent accommodation for its members, and in connection with it, great social advantages, the foremost and potent factor in its work consists of bringing the man back to his citizenship, thug, fulfilling a national necessity, and one'worthy of support and recognition by the public. In the club he meets hja former comrades—men who have fought and shared with him all the discomforts and.dangers of a soldier's life, and who have settled down to their former occupations. Thus he is fortified in his struggle- of life, and his burden lessened. The club, which has now been established for some time, is controlled dv a committee consisting of six returned soldiers' and six prominent citizens, 111 order to ensure that the interests oj donors and subscribers to tho club funds are being thoroughly safeguarded. • Remember, the club is not only for the boys who are already here, but also for the thousands yet to return. Subscriptions and donations may be sent to the treasurers, Messrs. Clarke and Jlenzies, 197 Lambton Quav. ,T. P. LTTKE, Mayor of Wellington. • H. J. STOTT. General Secretary, - A. T. CLARKE, ■ v D. E, MENZIES, Joint Hon. Treasurers, ■ (Published by Arrangement.)
