FEILDING SPRING MEETING

STAKES WON BY KOESIAN. (By Telegraph—Special Correspondent.) Feilding, November 29. The Feilding Jockey glub's Spring Meeting opened to-Siiy in"fmo weather. There was a large attendance, and the totalisator receipts were £,V3,#£>, as against .£18,551 last year. During the day a fire broke out in the stewards' stand, but it was extinguished before any damage was done. Owing to - the difficulty of obtaining riders, the scratching pen was freely used by owners in the first event, which was for apprentices. Some of tho lads wehe having their first ride, and nervousness plainly; manifested itself. When the barrier, lifted-only half of them went off, and the favourite, Acre, led Sabana into the straight, where Eidelio challenged' thern. Half way down the running The Baronet came from behind anu won by half a. length from Acre, with Sabana and Pidelio next to finish. The winner was unfancied on the machine. He is one of the Sir Laddo stock from the Highden maro Inamorata, and his present owner purchased him for a mere song. The Plying Stakes, six furlongs, was a good betting race, and when the machine closed down Lady Black was favourite, with Interlude, Menelaus, Tino Atua, and Hushuian evenly backed. After some delay a good start was effected. Botanist, on the inner, was tho first to begin, but he was soon headed off by Hushman, Menelaus, and Tino Atua. Across tho bottom Menelaus got into trouble, and was sent back. Lady Black' and Hushman were clear of Interlude and -Tino Atua as they turned into the straight, with Astor coming fast. Tho favourite held her own in tho Tun to the post, and won by a length from Hushman, with , Astor close tup. Then came Interlude, Menelaus, Moutoa Queen, and Botanist.

Thirteen 6taTter3 paraded for the St. Andrew's Handicap. Adjutant was a good favourite, with Master Moutoa and Square Deal next in public opinion. At the start Square Deal and Atuatora led from Lady Louisa and Want. Entering the straight tho first time tho leading pair were six lengths out from tho field. Passing the stand Moulu ran into third place. At the six furlongs Square Deal put a, further break on the field, and dow/j the back he was out by himself. At tho half-mile Adjutant and Rinaldo wero boing haTd ridden for positions. Entering the straight Rinaldo raninto second place, and in the run home he caught and beat Square Deal, who finished second, with Lady Louisa third, followed by Bronk Delaval, Wont, and Bon Revo. Master Moutoa shaped badly, and Adjutant stopped badly over tho final pinch. Tho winner is owned by Mr. W. Duncan, who gave a big figuro for him two years ago. This is tho 6econd race ho has won in tho Fordell colours. Ho scored in a meritorious), fashion to-day, and may do further 6eryico for his owner. Vladian has gone sore, and had to be scratched for tho Spring Hurdles. This left only isthreo runners. The bottom weight 6cored in tho simplest possible fashion, and it would have required somo weight to stop him to-day. A. M'Donald rode him in behind for a mile and a half, but after this ho pulled himself to the front and won very easily from Sir Donald, who jumped badly. Marton was tailed off. The winner was lucky to get in rat the minimum, as in the autumn on course he ran Naupata to a nose with Oik above tho minimum.

Tho Ashhuirst winner, Nicomar, put up a 101b. penalty in the Hack Hurdles, and again won, but this time he looked to be a trifle/lucky to defeat Kurapai, who was only a nose away, while Austin was again in third place, as at Ashhurst. The favourite, Record, shaped badly, as did The Golfer and Combustion. Oonziska was out for a bit with Portland Lady, but the pair had no chance when the real business commenced. Prince Dolawaro ran badly. There was a surprisingly large field in the Feilding Stakes. The two-year-old Crowhurst was a good favourite, but he •• shaped badly, and could only get fourth at the finish. Thero was a long delay at the barrier, and the tapes wero broken several times. At the start Koesiaii, on tho outside, was quickest to begin, and he led all the way. Over the last furlong Bimeter challenged strongly,- but Koesian had his measure all tho time. Cease Eire was prominent the whole, way, and finished third, a length in front of the" favourite, who was followed by Hose Pink;

A. field of eleven faced the starter in the Kiwitea Welter Handicap. Client was a good favourite, but he w.as not favoured with a good run, and in the finish was beaten out of a place. Detroit took charge after going a furlong, and led the whole way. Down the back Ladify, Lady Aniai, Crawford, and Montana were most prominent. In the straight Montana and Lady Amai endeavoured to head off Detroit, but the latter held his own and won nicely. Montana beat Lady Amai by a length. The lastnamed is coming back to form. The favourite was the' unlucky horse of the field. The was a very big field in the concluding event. Rough riding was rampant in the race, and several horses had great luck to keep their feet. Mascot and Hopeite were the principal sufferers. Hastie led Rewa Rewa into the straight, where Analogue. came through and won very decisively from Munition. Antwerp, Vladincau, and Eastio were the next, to finish." THE HESULTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. AORANGI TRIAL PLATE, of 125 sovs. Seven furlongs. 13 The Baronet, 7st. 71b. (C.
