ENEMY TRADE MARKS

An application, by Mr.-Baldwin, representing Messrs. Burroughs, Wellcome and Co., for tho suspension of the trade mark "Salvarsan" has been heard by the Registrar of Trade Marks, acting under an appointment, of the Governor-in-Council to hold such an inquiry. Evidence w*9 adduced to show that the applicant is not an alien enemy, that ho intends to manufacture Salvarsan and import the same into New Zealand, that it would bo to the general interests bf the public to suspend the mark, and that "he presen proprietors are subjects of a State at war with His Majesty. Salvarsan is used in treating the Red Plague, and it was stated is at the present time, or shortly will be, unobtainable in tho Dominion unless tho trade mark is suspended..
