Many old friends, of whom woro associated with her in both the happy days and tho days of hardship and suffering experienced by Auckland pioneer settlers, will hear, with regret, of the death of Mrs. F. W. Ruck. The deceased was a daugther of tho late Captain Ringroso Atk.vns, and was bora, iii Clonmel, Count Waterford, Ireland, 76 years ago, coming to_ Now Zealand w'hon a child. She married an Imperial officer, the late Captain V. W. Ruck, and leaves two surviving daughters— Mrs. 'W. N. Leatham ai:d Mrs. J. L. R. Bloomfield.
