RETURNED SOLDIERS' DAYS
In addition to the bayonet fighting team from the Infantry, the camp people are sending in. other "star" items for Saturday's programme at the Basin Reserve. The Engineers, Twentieth and 'Twenty-first Reinforcements, intend to have six teams in competition, with an exhibition of land-mine' firing—a taste of actual warfare, with actual explosions—and a demonstration of barrel- pier-raft making in a hurry will be contributed by the same corps. .The piers are to assist troops landing on a bad shore, etc. Seventeen schools are expected to take part in a quarter-mile relay race—. lour boys in a team. Events at the Basin.Reserve start, at; 2.15 p.m., and the admission is six-J pence. j Arrangements have been made foe; the ascent of a number of fire balloons when the procession reaches the Re-' serve on Friday night.
