'—* : ' ANNUAL CONFERENCE. The annual conference of iho Waterside "Workers' Federation will open at Auckland on Friday, when tho representation of unions will bo as follows:—Bluff, Mr. J. Cameron; Port Chalmers, Messrs. A. and N. Campbell;' Tiinaru, Mr. D. Mills; Lytteltou, Messrs. J. Hood and T. Armstrong; Wcstport, Mr. L. Tredennick; Wellington,' Messrs. J. G. Bruce, J. Laurenson, L. Glover, and' 6. H. Gray; Wanganui, Mr. J. Phillipson; New Plymouth, Mr. T. Hardgravo; Gishorne, Mr. G. W. Hart; Kaipara, Mr. G. Stallworthy; Onohuuga, Mr. Ivan Brownloe. Mr. James Roberts, secretary of the federation, will officially represent Picton, Oainaru, Nelson, and Grcymouth. Auckland will bo represented by four delegates, whose namos aro not yet available, and. Napier and Dunedin will each havo a delegato present. One of the principal questions sot down for discussion is tlio formation of a Transport Workers' Federation. Remits havo been received dealing with suggested improvements in working conditions with a view to providing for safety on the waterfront.
