4 — SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS. . On Saturday evening at the Public Tepid Swimming Baths the members of the Boys' Instituto competed for tlio junior, intermediate, and senior swimming cups. Some fine swimming took place, the finals being,.well worth witnessing. The following were the results of the first race, and the concluding races for the cups will bo lield on Saturday next and Saturday, December 9:— Junior Championship (under 12).—First heat: P. Wilson, 1; J. Anderson, 2; G. Gill, 3. Time. 30sec. Also started: S. Atkinson, C. DesLandes. Second heat: H. Holmes, 1; K. Gibson, 2; L. Barker, 3. Time, 29sec. Also started: C. Eoss. Final: K. Gibson, 1; H. Holmes, 2; P. Wilson, 3. ' Intermediate Championship (12 to 15 vears).-First heat: W. M'Gill, 1; A. Boss, 2; H. Greenfield, 3. Time, 2isec. Also started: P. Coleman, F. Mumford. Second heat: F. Palette, 1; ,T. Eyan, 2; C. Ifusterholz, 3. Time, 21sec. Also Started: W. Letham. Final: W. Jl'Gill, 1; F. Falette, 2; ,T. Eyan, 3. Time, 20sec. A great race; just won on tho touch. Senior Championship (15 to 18 years).— Final: A. Tarrant, 1; i\\ Bing, 2; W. Kelly, 3.
