RETURNED SOLDIERS' APPEAL DAYS

Sooner or later the State will' be confronted with great and serious problems. Whilst tho war is raging all our energies are bont on winning tho war, but those who have already faced tho actual experience, who are maimed, and whose nerves aro shattered, realise what it Imeans to return to civilian life, and [once more become ordinary citizens, a | task which seems almost superhuman. An institution such as the "Eoturncd Soldiers' Club" is an important factor in solving this difficulty, and pointing out tho right path for the man who is back from tho front. Whilst the club offers most excellent accommodation for its members, and in connection with it, great social advantages, tho foremost and. potent factor in its work consists of bringing tho man back to his citizenship, thus fulfilling a national necessity, and one worthy of support and recognition by the public. In the club he meets his former comrades—men who havo fought and shared with liim all tho discomforts and dangers of a soldier's life, and who havo settled down to their forjner occupations. Tho club, which has no-v been established for some time, is controlled by a committee consisting of six returned 6oidiers and six prominent citizens, ill order to ensure that the interests of donors and subscribers to the club funds are being thoroughly safeguarded. Remember, tho club is not only for tho boys who .wo already .here, but also for tho thousands yet to return. Subscriptions and donations may bo sent to tho treasurers, Messrs. Clarke and Menzies, 197 Lambton Quay. , J. P. LUKE, Mayor of Wellington. 11. ,J. STOTT, General Secretary. A." T. GTiARKU, D. E. MENZIES, Joint Hon. Treasurers,
