Tbo position in Rumania is still in some respects obscure, but comments generally take a more hopeful tone than has ruled of. late. Colonel Repins»ton is of opinion that-the Rumanian western armies have executed a. safe retreat, and according to the "Petit Parisien" the Rumanians have .sacrificed territory'in order to rfclain a sound defensive position and maintain adequate reserves. 'Bad weather is reported in Macedonia, but Serbs, French, and Italians have all repulsed counter-attacks and advanced northward, capturing - further positions. No big development is reported in the Western theatre. A Petrograd official message states that one of the Russian Black Sea Dreadnoughts was sunk last month as the result of a fire breaking out in her magazine.
