Arrangements have been altered in connection with the Akita Maru, and advieo received from Sydney yesterday 6tated that she would leave for Wellington direct as according to first arrangements, and should get here about January 3,1917/ and leave about tjvo days later for Sy'duey; ■ When the new service, via. Auckland, will bo inaugurated is not quito definite. The letter from Sydney which was received by the local office of Messrs. Burns, Philp, and Co. also stated that the following vessels with New Zealand transhipments are to arrive in Sydney from Jo,pan:—Heishu Maru, December 2;Nichiyo Maru, December 6; Kenton Maxu, Dccem-
ber 17; Matsura ilaru, January 2; and Otaru Maru, January 6. The latest Lloyd's list gives some particulars of a new cargo-carrier, which has just been completed to the order of tlie Nippon, Yuseu, Kaisha Line. She is a vessel of 3792 tons, lias a. length of 345 ■fect, a beam ol 375 ftiefc, ond a depth of 29 fect. There is a. probability that this vessel will later come into the New Zealand running. MOEBAKI FiiOJI SYDNEY. From Sydney direct the Moeraki arrived in port yesterday morning, and berthed' at No. 1 nortn Queen's Wharf shortly after 8 a.m. The Moeraki sailed from Sydney at 1 p.m. on iThursday, and light winds and smooth seas were experienced on tlio trip across. Her cargo includes transhipments ex the Kaituna, 'i'engro Maru, Nikko Maru, Op?.wa, Port Lyttclton, City of Agra, Vermont, (tango, and Mallina, and cqvers 80 cases glassware, 130 cases cotton goods, 572 sacks pollard, 60 bags almonds. 40 bags rice, 20 cases of toys, 200 chests of tea, 36 cases of wine, 138 pieces Huon 'nine, 967 sleepers, anil 130 bags of hides. The Moeraki leaves for Lyttelton to-night. EIYEKINA AND WESTBALIA. The Huddart-l'arker, Ltd., advise that the Riverina will not now leave Sydney for Wellington until Friday next, and is duo here on Tuesday morning, November 28. It is unlikely tnat the vessel will go to Lyttelton this trip, and will leave for Sydney on the return trip on the following Thursday. . The Westralia will now leave Auckland to-morrow, and is due here on Saturday, sailing the same day for southern ports. PAKEHA ARRIVED LONDON. The head office of the Shaw. Savill, and Albion Company state that cable advice has been received to the effect that the Pakeha arrived at London on November 17. ATHENIC AT HOBAET\ The Athenic arrived at Hobart at 2 p.m. on Sunday, and was to leave there last night for Auckland, where she is due on Saturday. She should arrive here about the following Saturday. The Ngakuta left Lyttelton for Greymouth, and leaves Greymouth on Wednesday, and is due here on Friday. The Ngatoro, now in Greymouth. will not get away till to-day, and is now duo here on Thursday morning. The Ngaherc is at present in Wliangarei, .and she will get to Auckland about Thursday. Mr. Turner, local agent for the Blackball -Coal Company, advises that he expects her here about .November 29. The Bemuera should get back here from southern ports on Saturday next. Westport hopes to get the Komata away for Wellington this morning at 6 o'clock, and Greymouth hopes to dispatch the Kamo this morning. They will arrive here to-morrow. The Kamona is to leave Greymouth to-morrow, and, should get here on Thursday. Owing to an accumulation of cargo, the Wakatu i 6 running a special trip from Lyttelton to Kaikoura and back, and is now due here on Friday, and leaves again on Saturday for Lyttelton, via Kaikoura. The Paloona arrived at Bluff early yesterday morning from Melbourne, and is due here on Friday next. After finishing here the Paloona proceeds to Port Chalmers, where she will ,lay up for extensive overhaul. No substitute has yet been arranged. Included in the latest charter list is the name of tho steamer Parattah, which will load cargo at Montreal for New Zealand, Melbourne, and Sydney. Cable advice has been received intimating that the steamer Araleun was dispatched from Montreal on October 11 and Colon on October 30 lor New Zealand ports and Sydney. Yesterday the Himitangi left for Waitangi (Chatham Islands), and- will load sheep and wool for Lyttelton at that port. Tho Cumberland should finish loading at Waitara to-day, and will probably leave for Wellington to-night, getting here to-morrow morning.
