ROSENEATH RATEPAYERS ASSOCIATION
« The Roseneatli and Oriental Bay Ratepayers' Association met last evening, Mr. T. Ward presiding over a good attendance of members. A deputation of Kilbirnio residents waited on the association irith a scheme for raising a sum of money for Belgian Christmas gifts. The deputation consistixl of Messrs. Jorgenson and Stoupo, who stated that a strong committee had been set up to work the districts between Hataitai and Seatoun, and it was thought that Roseneath should fall into lino with thom andl takepart in tho combined effort at tho Kilbirnie Park on December 15 and 16. Tlio association elected a committee to look into the scheme, and Messrs. T. Ward and H. Shakes wore appointed chairman and secretary respectively. It was decided! to call a meoting of ladies and a public meoting to bo held 011 Monday evening next, to discuss tho suggestion and to mako arrangements. The association went into tho matter of the eneroachmont of Grass Street, but as the membor who put the question was not prosont it was decided to finally closo the matter. The bathing sheds asked for by tho association are now Hearing completion, and. will 'bo ready for use in a few weeks.
