FINAL CONCERT. Mr. Paul Dufault gave the final conert of his farewell season on Saturlay evening in the Town Hall. Songs if • battle predominated in Mr. Du'ault's portion of tho programme. The tenor opened with the aria, "Sound an. Marm" (Handel), a most- inspiring' rail to'arms. His best number undoubtedly was, "Tho Tnimpeter"_ (Dix), in which the magnificent qualities-of his voice were used with fine effect.. Mr. Dufault was repeatedly encored, and in responding he generally sang numbers that ho had been: requested to favour the audience with. With Miss Pauline Bindlcy he sang in a.duet from De Koven's opera, "Robin Hood." In the, second portion of the programme he gave "Sacrament" (MacDermid), "Au Pays" (Holmes), "Reveille" (Oliver), "If Thou "Wert Blind" W°hnson), "Si J'etaes Jardenier" (Ciiaminade), and "The Trumpeter" (Dix). The audience applauded insistently after he had sung "The Trumpeter," and among the encores'" were given tho "Marsellaise," much to their delight. Miss Paulino Bindley 'dang delightfully. ;Her songs were:— "Card Nome" (Verdi), "Down in the Forest (Ronald), "Just" (Bradford), ' and "Poor Wandering One" (Sullivan). Miss Florence Scapini, the, talented 1 violinist, played "Souvenir" (Dedla), 'troys .of- Love" (Kreislor), the finale from the "Spanish Symphony" (Lalo), and a "Spanish Dance" (Sarasate):
: All executive meeting was held on. Friday, in connection with' the Returned Soldiers' Days' Fund. It was arranged that a procession should take* place on Friday, December 1, from Government Buildings to the Basin Reserve, and that a gala should he held at the Basin Reserve on Saturday, December 2. The Basin Reserve will bo specially .illuminated and a display of fireworks will be given. Arrangements were also made for side shows and a sports meeting, and a Fire Brigade burlesque was also suggested. Sub-committees were set up for street collections, stalls in the streets, and the sale of flags and badges. , The Lady Mayoress is to ibe asked; to conveno a meeting of ladies to assist in the work.
