"DULL AND MISTY."
"Dull and misty." says the Meteorological Department of yesterday s weather. The air was still muggy, and it rained frequently and heavilyFleecy clouds trailed over tho hills, drenching their slopes. x The wind came from the west, in a warm breeze. Rain was fairly general all over. A repetition of yesterday is predicted for to-day, hut the Klass is expected to riso everywhere soon. . . . ■ c A Press Association telegram from Invcrcargill states that on Wednesday afternoon a copious and refreshing ram began to fall and hopes wore entertained of a good 24 hours' downpour. While the whole district is in a splendid condition from an agricultural point of view at the nresent time, a good soakin" rain would do an immense amount of good. Southland has had very slight falls of rain'during the past two months, and the ground is in need of moisture. ' -■ ~
