November A dispatch from Genoral Lake (the British Commander in Mesopotamia) says: "Since the fall of Kut-el-Aniara, no large operations have been undertaken. The troops have been resting and recuperating. and consolidating their positions. While the abatement of the' floods has dried the "round it has also increased the water difficulties. The Turks still hold the Sanna-i----yat position, and have constructed other lines on the left bank of the Tigris. We dominate the Shatt-01-Hai, and could bombard Kut-el-Arama."
