TRENTHAM'S CHRISTMAS DINNER
£100 (CONTRIBUTION FROM DUNEDIN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, November 15. • The Otago Patriotic Society decided to-day to co-operato with the Wellington movement' to provide a Christmas dinner for the troops at Trentham, and made a grant of £100 for the purpose. Tho societv held a special meeting to consider what action, if any, should be taken regarding the Hon. J. I. Paul's position, this arising from his association with- and support _of a manifesto against conscription in Australia. In view of Mr. Paul's letters explaining his absence, and suggesting the common courtesy of exercising the British principle of hearing svn accused person in his own defence, tie society decided to defer .consideration, of the matter till. Monday next.
