Messrs. Bass, Eatclifi:, and Gretton, tho well-known brewers, have announced their intention of granting a war bonus to those of tho permanent salaried staff whose income does not exceed £400 per annum. Those receiving salaries not exceeding £160 will ha paid 15 per cent.; those with salaries over £160 and up to £250, 10 per cent.; and thoso receiving salaries over £250 and up to £400, 5 per cent. An official report states that in five years South Africa will be able to export a million boxes of oranges annually.
