There is a lull on- the French front. Severe fighting is proceeding in the wooded' Carpathians,-' where the ■ Gej-mans are making furious but futile attacks, at heavy cost, on the Russian, line. Tho Germau : Bulgar retreat in the Dobrudja continues, and on other sections of the Rumanian front the situation is satisfactory. ■' The Serbians have again' distinguished themselves in their attack oh the Bulgarians on tho Cerna, and have forced the' enemy to retreat a distance of two miles. On the-Italian front the Austrians are displaying intense activity iii the', Trentino, with what purpose Temains to bo seen. :
