PACIFIC CABLE BOARD DECLARES A SURPLUS
FOR THE FIRST TIME ON RECORD. AnstTaUan:Kcw Zealand Cablo Association. •m t, London, November 13. the Pacific cable, in 1015-16, showed a surplus of £17,924. -This is tho first time it. has produced a surplus after paying sinking fund and annuities. Hie total paying traffic to and from Australasia, was 8,181,110 words, against 4,401,008 in the previous year. There was also a considerable quantity of non-paying matter, chiefly free messages for Wounded s'oldiprs.
