A STORY FROM THE FRONT, MACHINE GUNS EXCHANGED FOR JAM! _ Here is an interesting sidelight on life at the front, as told by a leading War Correspondent:— "The English soldier's jam ration is the envy of both, the Belgian and R-onoh troops where the lines of tho different armies join. On one occasion, at tnafc , point whero the French forces are adjacent to the English battalions, it was ,evident that the British were in. difficulties, because of the activities of a German machinegun detachment. The French commander, knowing the English had no machine guns of their own, , offered the use of two French weapons for ten hours, in i-eturn for one case of jam. The offer . was gladly accepted." Oar Soldiers arc not supplied with jam because it is a delicous sweet, but because it lis a WHOLESOME FOOD. Jam should be on every table every day, and the finest'jam you can obtain is ; "K" JAM.. THE PUREST AND BEST OF ALL. Famed ,for its fine fruity flavour! Ask for "K," and refuse inferior ' brands. i KIRKPATRIOK, NELSON. BOHAN'S TEA CANNOT FAIL TO PLEASE!
