An Italian ofhcial communique states"Snowfalls and torrential rains are hindering our artillery. Wo straightened otir front betweon Monte Fati and Gaita Gnavisraa (in the Carso), advancing nine hundred yards, and capturing two 6-inch, guns, with abundant stores and ammunition." AUSTRIAN LOSSES ON THE CARSO Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. (Rec. November 12, 5.5 p.m.) ... Rome, November 11. The Messagero" estimates that the Austrian losses on the Carso are nearly 60 per cent, of their effectives. The recent battle revealed the fact that the Austrians no longer have a limitless quantity of munitions. Prisoners state, that many of the batteries ceased fire owing to laclc of shells. The increasing activity on .all fronts involves the expenditure of munitions and! guns at a. far greater rate than Germany and Austria are capable of producing. Bulgaria and Turkey are producing practically nothing.
