News lrom Berlin states that the reelection of President Wilson was a great disappointment in German political circles, who had founded great hopes on the President's defeat. The newspapers, however, point out. that Germany knows President Wilson, but it does not know Judge Hughes, wbo might make matters worse for tlie Central Powers. Now that President Wilson is bead of tbe Republic for four years more, he may wish to begin the work of mediation in order to place America's moral standing on an unassailable basis.
