'A concert was given at tlie Sailors' Friend "Society by Miss H. E. Randell. Tlio items were chosen with much care, and in every ease wero encored. Mr. Moore, Missioner, presided. Ho spoke on "A Day in Wellingtin in Relation to the Drink Question." Five men signed the pledge. The performers were Mrs. Astill, the Misses Lydia Barnott, Zilda Bailey, and Lucas, and Messrs. Fulton and Howe. Miss Minifie was at the piano. Cheers 'rewarded those who' had braved the cle- | ments to give.pleasure to the seamen.
