BAD WEATHER ON THE ITALIAN FRONT
OPERATIONS SUSPENDED FOR BRIEF REST ENORMOUS BOOTY BEING COLLECTED Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. % Rome, November 6. The weather has again broken, and rain is falling heavily. Mist covers the hills, and the mud is hampering operations east and south of Gorizia, where it is almost impossible for thp. troops to move. The losing of the village at Mount Faith was a serious blow te the Austrians, who believed it to be"impregnable. The village dominates Kostanjevica, and the network of roads which spread out from tho village, and also the main road from Runziano to the Carso. General Cadorna has allowed the troops a_ brief rest in order to bury tho enemy dead and collect the enormous booty in the caverns, where there are also hundreds ot Austrian wounded. An Italian official communique states:—"Wo repulsed attacks in the Concei Valley and at Lukatic, on the Carso. A Russian official communique states"Repeated attempts by the enemy to wrest from us tli£. dominating heights east of Lipitzadolna- were Tepnlsed. The enemy's attacks in the Carpathians were nullified. Here, we carried a series of heights."
