HUNS TRYING TO SEPARATE RUSSIA
. MISCHIEVOUS CANARDS
Australian-New Zealand Oable Association. . London, November 5. The "Daily Chronicle's" correspondent at Petrograd states that German intrigues, with tho object of splitting up tho Entente coalition, are increasing in vigour as the Allies gain the upper hand in the military operations. German agents are spreading rumours that England's determination to fight to a finish prevents Russia concluding an advantageous peace. Tho Russians are indignantly rejecting the malevolent insinuations agaiust England. The latest suggestion is that Russia does not need Constantinople, only England which is opposed to the freedom of the straits, which Germany could guarantee. The "Novoe Vromya's" comment on this is: "Tho fate of Constantinople will be decided without Germany." Tile enemy's activity in Russia also takes the form of spreading false rumours of risings and strikes. While Petrograd hears that Moscow has risen, the police have refused duty, and the soldiers will not fire. Moscow simultaneously learns of similar happenings at the capital. The same procedure is adopted in other large centres. Labour leaders have warned the workers to ignore the rumours. INTRIGUERS IN RUSSIA. (Rec. November 6, 8.5 p.m.) London, November 5. The- "Daily Chronicle's" correspondent at Petrograd states that all Germany's political and l military efforts are bent on detaching Russia from the coalitiou.
