BOOM IN SHIP-BUILDING
RECORD TONNAGE IN BRITISH YARDS. ("The Times.") ' (Rec. November 6, 6.20 p.m.) London, November 5. Lloyd's Register annual report shows that 620 vessels; aggregating 2,282,709 tons, are now being built—the largest amount of shipping ever recorded. It is chiefly due to the activities of neutrals, the British output being far below normal. At the end of June the registered vessels numbered 10,064, and their tonnage 23,190,138.. During the year 362 new vessels, aggregating 700,209 tons, wore registered, of which 52}' per cent, were for the British Empire
