Canal direct, the steamer City of Delhi arrived in Wellington Bhortly after noon yesterday, and herthed at No. 3 Taranaki Htreot Wharf shortly after 5 p.m. Tho Missel left New York on. Sept-omber ZB, a.nd arrived at Colon on October 6. The canal was pa&eed through on October B, and fine weather was experienced on her trip to Wellington. Tho voyage wao on the whole uneventful. Papa Island was sighted, hut no stop \vas made. A heavy sea >vas running et <tho island. An avcrapc i»r 10.2 knots was maintained by.the .vessel on her voyage, which may be considered a pretty good one for a. steamer of her class. She has a general cargo, induded in which is a largo number of motor-cars and agricultural implements. Captain Dremner is in chorg eof the vesBel, and has associated with aim a» chief officer Jlr. J. The Auckland nency of til® Luckenbach Line, two of whose vessels, the Ed|*ar P. Luckenbach * and the Hattie Luckenbach, have visited Auckland within tho past few months, has been undertaken by McssTs. Russell' and Somers, of Customs Street. The Luckenbach Line consists of 31 vessels, excluding two new vessels, the Edward Luckenbaoh and the Julia Luckenbach. It is anticipated that a monthly service from New York to the Dominion .and Australian ports, via the Panama Canal, will bo run.
