RELIEF EXPEDITION SHACKLETON TO THE RESCUE 'Anstralian-New Zealand Cablo Association. San Francisco, November 3. Sir Ernest Shackleton has arrived at N«w Orleans, en route hero. Ho leaves San Francisco for Wellington in order to sail for Duuedin, from where he leaves on the rescuo of the expedition in the Antarctic. After rescuo has boon effected Sir Ernest Shackleton will return to England and will participate in the war. New Orleans, November 3. Sir Ernest Shackleton baa arrived from Colon, and has left'for San Francisco en route to New Zealand, to rescue the men in Antarctica. He says tha* if tho war continues after t3iat he intends to enlist, and after the war to make another attempt to cross the South' Polar Continent. THE EMPIRE'S RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT SUGGESTED. 'A Colonial Institute deputation to' Mr. Bonar Law, Secretary of State for the Colonies, urged the appointment of a committee to improve commerce and tha labour supply, thus making the Empire more self-supporting.
