RE-PLANNING OF DUBLIN
RESULT OF THE COMPETITION.
The adjudicators in the Marquess of Aberdeen's competition, viz.: Professor Patrick Geddes, of Edinburgh, Mr. C. J. M'Carthy, F.R.1.A.1., City Architect of Dublin, and Dr. .John Nolen, of Cambridge, Mass., have (says tho London "Post" of August 28) completed their examination of the. designs for the replanning of Dublin. The prize has been awarded to the design > submitted by Professor Patrick of tho Department of Civic Design, Liverpool, and Messrs. Sydney A. and' Arthur J. Kelly, surveyors, of Liverpool. Honourable mention, has been given to the designs submitted by Messrs. Ashbee and Chettlo (C. R. Ashbee, F.R..1.8.A., and George H. Chcttle), architects, of Chelsea ; by Messrs. J. M. L. Bogln, 8.E., City Engineers office, Liverpool; Arthur W. Panton, M.A., A.M.1.C.E.. Clontarf, Dublin; H. 0. Burroughs, 8.A., University School of Architecture, Liverpool; and 0. Newhold, cert, architect. Liverpool; by. Messrs. KayeParry and Ross (W. Kave-Parry, M.A., F.R.1.8.A., M.lnst. C.E., and George Murray Ross, M.A., 8.1.A.. M.lnst.. C.E.1.), civil engineers, architects, and estate surveyors, "48 Kildare- Street, Dublin; and by Frank .A. Cushing Smith, 8.5., M.L.A., University Club, TJrbana,' Illinois." 'It- is hoped to arranc;o for an exhibition of the designs in Dublin ,at an early date.
