There is a humorous side to every picture, and perhaps in no oaso is this more exemplified than in connection with the_ ipolitical intrigues, the false, mendacious, bombastic, arid hypocritical utterances, the fake'd ports/ and general cant and humbug that lias been so much in evidence in , conneotion, with the great-war. "Mr. Punch" has in his own super-excellent' way let a flood of satirical light on the many phases of the conflict, and every Britisher _ will find genuine amusement in perusing the volumes of "Punch" for the war period, while providing books for his library which will never fail to interest and amuse.
