Under tho War Regulations Act, the [police last night, raided what is ( known _ns a "shilling a night" lodging- • house in Federal Street, and " arrested jixteon men and two women occupants. TFhis morning, 'Purvis Graham, aged 63, on a chargo of keeping a houso of ;ill-fame, sentenced to twelvo months' imprisonment. Margaret iLange, a resident in tho house, receiv,od nine months, _ and Agnes Bathurat sis months' imprisonment, and four .others were sentenced to one month, :hnd one man, on a chargo of vagrancy, >Tras sentenced to six months' in prison.
