Fifty millions sterling; havo been subscribed to war charity inuring the first two years' of the war, including the gifts from the dominions and colonies. The total inoludes £20,G'00,000 for the relief of distress and tfe re-establish-ment of men returning \to civi! life; £ti,000,000 for sick anil wounded; £6,000,000 for comforts; £10,000,000 for the AlKes. The Prince of Wales's National Fund now totals £6,000,000, of_ 'which thrcelifths has been spent, chiafly in meeting soldiers' allowances, payment of which has been delayed by the War Office. •fhe Comforts Fund includes £1,500,UOO spent by the Youne Mon's Christian Association, the Church Army, and tlte Salvation Army for the entertainment of the fighting mi3n in the traiuing camps abroad. £8,000,000 has been collected for Belgian relief. Half of this has been spent by • the Neutral Commission in Belgium; and £3,000,000 was'spent on feeding, clothing,_ and lodging; Belgian refugees in Britain.
