ENLARGED QUARTERS.
Y.M.C.A. AT 'fRENTE AM.
Tho Y.M.C.A. Institute at Trentham Camp has been, iu the hands of the builders for some weeks past for tho purpose of enlarging tho accommodation and making alterations which will make hotter uso of tho apace available. Tho work is now practically completed, and the interior of tho hall presents a pleasing appearance, being panelled on walls and ceiling and finished in harmonious tints. A feature of the improvements is tho stage, which is twenty feet squaro, wbilo tho central portion of it, measuring sixteen feet squaro, is mounted on skids, and can bo moved into the contre of the ball when it is used for boxing contests. This form of exercise is tho most popular one in camp, but hitherto no satisfactory ring has boen available away from walls or posts which might injure tho combatants. It is intended to hold boxing tournaments onco a woek. On other evenings thero will be recreation provided on three fullsized billiard tables, as well as in other amusements. A library of over 2000 books is also available, and in another room permanent quarters for the Camp BanO to practiso in have boon provided. It is hoped to add a small gymnasium outfit to the hall, consisting of two horizontal and two pairs of parallel bars. Tn this direction tlio generosity of well-wishers of the soldiers is appealed to, and the field secretary in chargo will bn glad to receive gifts in money or kind.
