SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY.
The many nion from tlio ships now in port wore delighted with the popular concert provided by Mrs. T. L. Jonos and Mrs. P. P. Morgan, at tho Sailors' Friend .Society last night. Every item was encored with a refreshing vim. Mr. Moore, Missionor, spoke with feeling for tho maiiy men whom ho mot who were made i<> feel at homo in Wellington by these concerts provided hy our residents. He pleaded for discarded hooks for use at sea: he also spoke on tho tomperaneo question and eight men sianed tho pledge. The vote of thanks tendered to tho following was of tho warmest nature: —ATesdames T. L. •Tones and P. P. Morgan, and tho Missps Chapman. Dorotlw Jones, Carter, Mariorio Jones. Dymock. and Messrs. Thompson, W. Cate, T. E. Jones. Peak, Charles, Barrio, 11.M.5. ..Turakina.
